Complete Hardware/Software HD DVR Solution for the PC!

The included remote control provides easy access to the intuitive ReplayTV onscreen interface and all of the system's powerful search features, and stores nicely in a PC-MCIA slot.

Most importantly, the system's reliable, easy-to-use software, including useful ReplayTV features such as "overlap manager" and show-based recording, ensures that a user's favorite shows will be available for enjoying anytime!

Among the many advanced features included in ReplayTV Personal HD are:
[continued]

Integrated iPod Support: With the new iPod support, users can watch high-def television via their Apple TV or take programs with them for viewing anytime anywhere via many popular models of the iPod including the iPhone.

Multiple-Tuner Support: Multiple shows can be recorded at the same time if additional tuners are installed (not included). In addition to the included ReplayTV tuner, ReplayTV Personal HD also supports leading tuners from Hauppauge, ATI, and Pinnacle.
This organizing principle makes navigating through hundreds of shows fast and accurate. And when it's movie night, ReplayTV organizes all recorded movies under one tab.

Availability and Pricing
ReplayTV Personal HD will be distributed at major online retailers and direct from ReplayTV. It can be purchased for the suggested retail price of $99.95., which includes a ReplayTV high-definition USB tuner with dual tuner support.
So it works with over-the-air and analog cable only. Definitely an interesting offer for someone using an antenna, or as a backup or secondary recording option. Of for someone who transfers a lot of recordings to iPods - not sure why you'd record HD for an iPod, but....

New utility: RTVConvert Admin

John Rivera sent us a note about a new Windows utility he's created called RTVConvert Admin

What is it?
RTVConvert Admin (RTVCA) is a freeware Windows XP/2000 application that helps ReplayTV 5K users who use Dvarchive (DVA) and a video editor ( e.g. to remove commercials) and wish to bring these edited videos back into DVArchive.

What does it do?
After the user has edited the mpeg(s) with a video editor (Womble, VideoRedoPlus, etc.), the following process is automated:

1) Run rtvconvert on all edited videos with a filename ending with _CUT, sending the output .mpg/.ndx/.evt files to a specific directory, either:
a) DVArchive Local Guide, if the matching xml was found
b) User specified path which will hold files to be imported by DVA, if the matching xml was not found.
- The destination files will end with a _rtvcvrted suffix.

2) Delete the post-edited, rtvconvert-source mpg.

3) Delete or Backup (user option) the original, unedited .mpg/.ndx/.evt/.xml files.

4) Modify the matching DVA .xml file (if found) to insert the new filename and proper time in seconds.

5) Rename the original .xml file to match the rtvconverted mpeg file name.

It can be downloaded here:
Love to see new tools created for Replay users!

Still waiting on software-only ReplayTV

Well, it's been 3 1/2 months since ReplayTV announced its plans for a [link url="http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051218/tc_nm/media_replaytv_dc"]software-only version[/link] of the ReplayTV to work with Hauppauge's WinTV-PVR tuner-encoder card, and we haven't heard much about it. We're hearing rumors, but if you've got tidbits to share, let us know.
