Question: Can I use really, really big drives (larger than 137GB) in an ReplayTV?
Answer: Yes, for the RTV4xxx and RTV5xxx series.
There is a special version of the WinNT/2K/XP RTVPatch program (version 2.1.3beta) to support these large drives. Large drives are not currently supported using the Linux boot disk method, nor are the supported with the 2.2.4 version. If you use RTVPatch version 2.2.4, it will only use the first 137GB of RRBD's!
Yes, and No, for RTV20xx, RTV30xx, and all ShowStopper series. These units can only see 137GB on any drive. If you use a larger drive in one of those units, then the unit will only use the first 137GB of the drive and the rest of the space will be wasted. Submitted by: FlipFlop

As of ReplayTV version 5 software for the 5000 series ReplayTVs, they now can support 2 drives.

I recently bought 3 new 160GB drives.. all ATA-7 interface.
2 Samsung 160GB 8MB Cache 7200 rpm UDMA-133 ATA-7 drives
1 Seagate Barracuda 160GB 8MB Cache 7200 rpm UDMA-100 ATA-7 drive
All drives were recognized properly by WinXP SP1 and RTVPatch. However, patched drives will not work on my 5504. Swapped the drives with my Maxtor 160GB UDMA-133 ATA-6 drives and upgrade worked flawlessly.
Then I noticed that my Oxford 911 firewire enclosure will not recognize beyond 127GB on ATA-7 drives.. so I'm guessing replay unit might be experiencing the same problem.. Ran RTVPatch on the ATA-7 drives as 127GB drive through firewire and the drive works on the replaytv unit.
